I am a Brussels-based artist working primarily in engraving, painting and watercolor.

I was born in Brussels in 1966, between the mineral horizons of the Swiss Valais and the wooded softness of the Brussels outskirts. I trained my eye in the grammar and rigor of the image, first at IATA in Namur, then at INSAS in Brussels. I then devoted several years to documentary film, camera on my shoulder. 

Since 2016, I have turned away from the relentless flow of 24 frames per second to devote myself fully to the vibration of line and color, across a range of supports and techniques. My “hypnographs” emerge from a gesture free of figurative intent. They are an automatic writing, a seismograph of the invisible. Monotype, or added color, then gives that line a body: transparency, density, hue. It becomes a sensory presence rather than mere drawing. I favor the square format, which abolishes the horizon and pulls energy toward the depths of the composition. It is a drifting territory of shadows and interlacings, where reality chooses to slip away.
